Last night, the Oregonian held a gala to honor the best places to work in Oregon and southwest Washington. Opus Agency made the list for the fifth year in a row.

From The Blog
Opus Agency’s team of event managers operates on the ground and in the moment, creating amazing experiences for our customers’ attendees. We recently managed to get one of them, Event Coordinator Madeline Golden, back in the office long enough to describe the joys, challenges, and mascot-related misadventures involved with being an event management pro.
As a brand events and marketing agency with a hand in hundreds of experiences around the world every year, our work tends to involve quite a bit of travel. Anyone with experience traveling for work knows it can be taxing on the mind and body. Luckily, we’ve got dozens of wily industry vets on staff who have spent their careers amassing tips and tricks that make each trip away from homebase a smooth and productive experience.
Opus is a full-service marketing agency. As such, we consider each and every member of the Opus team to have a direct hand in marketing. Every point of contact with customers, prospects, and partners presents an opportunity to further our brand. We take pride in the quantity and quality of our communication—no matter the medium—which makes it even more important for our writing to be strong and free of errors. To that end, Opus sends out weekly “Friday Grammar Notes” with the aim of raising the bar of the written word across the entire agency. Our notes should provide utility to everyone, whether you’re a fledgling scribbler or a confirmed word nerd.
This month we take a look at Grammy-worthy grammar mistakes, shed some light on shade-throwing gender designations, and share our point of view on prioritizing the reader’s perspective.
Opus Agency was once again honored among the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.
For the eighth year in a row since the event’s inception in 2009, Opus was proud to be involved with supporting The Children’s Pro-Am benefitting the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA).
In the spirit of our weekly grammar notes, the resident tech experts on our Event Technology team send out periodic updates on current trends in the tech world and their impact on the industry. This week, we unpack a hot industry topic: the Internet of Things.
EMC was recently featured in Event Marketer for their impressive work in the B-to-B event space. It was a pleasure to partner with EMC on this amazing project—their continual drive to push the envelope of what is possible in B-to-B events is a challenge we love taking on, again and again.

Building a brand depends on every point of contact that each employee has with customers, prospects, and partners. And despite being experts within respective disciplines, everyone is still occasionally bedeviled by a common high school nemesis: GRAMMAR! To help with the challenge, Opus sends out weekly “Friday Grammar Notes,” addressing misspellings, misuses, and misnomers in everyday communication. This quickly became the source of much dialogue around the proverbial water cooler, so we decided to make it a recurring feature on our blog. We hope you find it as useful as we do!
This month we cleared up the confusion about that, which, and who, were positively consumed by possessive contractions, were confused at least half the time by semi- and bi-, tried to put an end to try and, and gave four terms related to the word “for” what for.
The entire nation is in the grip of a Pokémon craze! We too have felt the draw to far corners of the city (or the office) to catch those little critters.
To help you on your path to building a formidable Pokémon army, we’ve put together a few pro tips for the other trainers out there. Gotta read ’em all!
Opus Agency COO Dena Lowery presented not once but twice at this year’s Corporate Events Marketing Association (CEMA) Summit, an annual gathering of the leading voices and thinkers in events marketing. Fresh on the heels of a Monday breakout session—co-presenting with Workiva’s Director of Global Events, Diana Cam, on best practices and growing pains for mid-sized, fast-growing companies—Lowery also presented her thoughts on building effective teams earlier today.
