Personal AI Is Changing What Attendees Bring to Events

Exploring ‘Context’ and the opportunity to connect events with personal agents.
Personal AI is accumulating context about people’s jobs, projects, priorities, and histories.

As people use it across more parts of their lives, they expect that context to travel with them.

For events, this opens another door into the experience. An attendee connects the event to the AI assistant that already knows their business and goals, then uses that context to plan and navigate their time.

In the Context section of Opus Agency’s zine, The Outlier: Redefining Connection, we explore what that looks like. Session recommendations draw on active deal pipelines and immediate project goals. An assistant finds a relevant session and flags a calendar conflict. The event’s app, site, and chatbot remain part of the experience, alongside the attendee’s own AI.

‍The starting point is the agenda.

A session titled “Unlocking Tomorrow” gives an assistant little to work with. Write descriptions that name the topic, the level, and who belongs in the seat. Publish the agenda, sessions, and floor plan in a format that an outside assistant understands.

From there, decide how far the assistant acts on an attendee’s behalf. Registering, booking, and rescheduling represent the next frontier. Personalization expands to include the context attendees bring with them.

Explore ‘Context’ and the three other types of connections (authorship, cohorts, and continuity) shaping event innovation in The Outlier: Redefining Connection.
