“Run of Show” Bruised, Bonded During Hood to Coast
Event professionals are used to covering lots of miles by foot on show day, but Hood to Coast is on another level.
Last week, 12 Maestros packed their running shoes and some Icy-Hot in preparation for the annual Hood to Coast Relay. The relay covers 199 miles starting at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood and ending at the beach in Seaside, Oregon. Runners find themselves running their legs at 2am, catching a nap wherever they can (sometimes in a field on the side of the road) and eating a lot of carbs. The Opus team, which went by the name “Run of Show,” finished 585th out of 1,050 participating teams. The team returned home sore, tired and bonded forever over this very unique experience.
