Topcoder Open

Project Description

Global cloud consultancy Appirio hosts an annual coding competition called the Topcoder Open. For 2014, they added a developer conference to this steadily-growing event, and decided to host it at Pier 48 in San Francisco—four football fields’ worth of raw industrial space typically used as parking for Giants games at nearby AT&T Park.

Opus partnered with Appirio to create the most ambitious Topcoder Open experience to date. Working with a myriad of vendors to pull it all off on time and on budget, we transformed the space with design assets and creative use of signage and lighting to soften the space. We provided infrastructure elements like electrical and internet, a back-up generator, bathroom trailers, vending machines, furniture, custom doors and windows, countless permits, as well as one fire marshal onsite for the duration.
